What do you dream of?

Now it’s your turn: how do you envision community? Friendship? Kin?

Is there some place in between friends and family that these relationships occupy? How is it different than those categories? How is it close to the same?

What would you like to share with me about your dreams for the future? What’s the texture of that life? Lots of people tout the dream of a commune, with all their friends, a garden, chickens, maybe some goats. I love that dream. But it looks a little different for everyone. How will we come together to work on things? How will we handle conflict and repair when we disagree? What dreams can we create?

Or maybe your commune is less agrarian, more urban. Maybe it’s an artists’ space in an old industrial building. Is there a common space to hang out? Rugs? Plants? Poufs? Do you host the most amazing parties and punk shows? Are there window boxes, old bathtubs on the roof filled with perennials?

Maybe our friends are spread widely but come together for one amazing camping event every year. Where does it happen? The woods? The river? The beach? What fruits do we prepare? What activities do we do?

Tell me your dreams. I’m listening.
