The Inspired Collective
The image I chose for this post is from @inspiredtowrite on Instagram, a great account about making the space for your art. I believe everyone can be an artist. Do you make anything more beautiful than it needs to be? You’re an artist (if you want to claim that label — I’m not gonna tell you who you are, that’d be bonkers.)
Our late stage capitalist world needs artists. It needs us to make time for our creativity. Taking time away from work to make things not for profit but for joy and inspiration is an act of resistance.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how I want to create that space collectively. I’m working on my second novel (my first was done, but then I realized it needed a major rewrite. Still, I finished something!) and having writer friends would be amazing.
But it’s not limited to that. I want to know what you’re making, what you’re working on, how you’re feeding your creative spirit. Is it paint? Collage? Embroidery? Baking? Woodworking?
Did you make a video game? Are you working on music? Did you make a corner of your home more functional?
